Recent survey found that, nearly 62 percent of the professionals want to change their jobs after appraisals. The survey clearly mentioned that most of the employees want to switch their jobs after appraisals. The causes for changes jobs would include that the dissatisfaction from appraisals and remaining candidates want to get better opportunities based on their hiked salaries. It is common that appraisals bring mixed reactions from employees. Some employees may satisfy with the hiked pay and dissatisfied category may lead to attrition.
The survey also stated that attrition rate will be higher after appraisals; most of the employees want to increase the salaries after appraisals. Senior and mid level executives takes time to think about job change and look for suitable positions in consideration with company culture, benefits and work environment. But entry level employees take immediate job change decisions to make the move. In the current dynamic market wherein fluctuations in the economy and business segments are too high, senior professionals may not consider post appraisal period as a good time to change. Entry level prefers to jump for better pay opportunities. Industry experts say that post appraisals is not the right time to switch jobs. Leaving an organization or job for unsatisfactory salary may not be the right reason. You must assess other factors like work environment, culture and flexibility before making a move. If an employee is performing well and an organization also growing well then one should not leave the company for better prospects. It would be taking risk in your career that leaving an organization which offer career growth and recognition to a new place which is uncertain.
An employee may leave the organization if the growth, compensation and responsibilities are restricted. If you are willing to go, then evaluate the new offer from all prospects and take a decision.
