New Delhi: The hiring activity in India registered 8 per cent rise in the July-September quarter and the bullish trend in recruitment was seen across sectors led by IT, says a report.

According to Wisdomjobs.Com, on monthly basis, the trends report for September showed stable results as compared to August.

As per sector-wise hiring trend analysis, the report said IT was in a better position than other sectors. It observed a rise of 7 per cent and Pharma sector by 6 per cent. The BPO sector witnessed a small rise of 3 per cent.

Job search portal Wisdom Jobs in talks to raise $6.5M from Gaja Capital, Helion


Hyderabad-based Wisdom IT Services India Pvt Ltd, which runs the online job search portal Wisdom Jobs is in talks to raise Rs 40 crore ($6.5 million) in its Series A round of funding from Gaja Capital and Helion Venture Partners, two people privy to the development told VCCircle.

When contacted, Ajay Kolla, co-founder and CEO of the two-year-old startup, confirmed the proposed fundraising, but declined to comment on the investors.

WisdomJobs to raise $6.5 million to fuel growth plans


Ajay Kolla, CEO,Wisdom jobs said that they are in the process of raising around $6.5 million (close to Rs 40 crore) in a Series-A round of funding from venture capital (VC) firms. They are also having such plans to expand to the major metros of India like Noida, Pune, Kochi, Kolkata and Ahmedabad markets by the end of 2015-16 financial year. Hiring in startups, tech firms likely to drop in Hyderabad


Hyderabad: Despite an increased activity on the startup front in the city, Hyderabad is expected to see a decline in hiring by tech-based firms over the next six months due to difficult funding environment.

"The slowdown in venture capital funding and rapid consolidation of startups are expected to have an adverse impact on job creation in this sector.
