Vice President for Social Impact in North America, Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth

Overview
Mastercards Center for Inclusive Growth seeks to ensure that the benefits of an expanding economy accrue to all segments of society through research, data philanthropy, programs and strategic engagement In overseeing the Mastercard Impact Fund, the Center addresses the challenges of financial inclusion, economic development and the future of work and the opportunity to use data for good

The Vice President for Social Impact in North America will design and lead a North America-based philanthropic program that builds on the Centers strategy, leverages Mastercards assets (including its technology, products, employees and global presence) for social impact and reinforces our business strategy of doing well by doing good

Role
Develop signature philanthropic initiatives across the social impact priority areas (financial inclusion, economic development, future of work, data for good), working with best-in-class partners to test new models and share learnings with the broader field
Build and measure the impact of clear, scalable and effective grant-making strategies that create positive impact in communities, reinforce the companys values of doing well by doing good
Over time, use lessons learned, based on impact measurement and other sources, to improve the philanthropic programming and extend its impact
Working with the rest of the Center team, develop effective relationships with internal business leaders (lines of business as well as corporate functions including communications, legal and others) to build broad senior support for signature initiatives, including at the Management Committee level Work to identify areas for collaboration across the business and philanthropic spheres and to align work of Center with the broader, global engagement strategy of the company
Communicate the philanthropic strategy to multiple internal constituencies and provide leadership teams with the information they need to share internally and with a broad range of external constituencies, as appropriate Integrate internal communications with employee engagement strategy
Collaborate with communications colleagues to set a vision for and execute an external visibility strategy that positions the company as a thought leader among a wide variety of external stakeholders

All About You
Extensive experience in program development and execution, philanthropy and/or grant making
Evidence of partnership development, planning and execution
Proven understanding of the relationship between business and community needs, key influencers, policy makers, non-profit leaders and others
Prior experience working, engaging or researching the needs of micro and small businesses and/or base of the pyramid segments and/or the unbanked and underbanked
Prior experience working on the application of data assets to economic and societal challenges
Understanding and experience in the role that financial inclusion and electronic payments can play in promoting inclusive, economic growth
Strong external network, interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships and interface across all levels of the organization
Strong capability of working effectively across a matrixed organization, promoting collaboration in a cooperative manner
Demonstrated project management and execution skills with strong ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
Experience managing and growing diverse, remote and successful teams
Advanced degree in policy, journalism, economics, law, international development or related field preferred
