Manager, Legal Services - Contract Services

The GBSC (Global Business Services Center) is the shared services organization for Mastercard Consistent with the One LFI model, GBSC has partnered with the Law, Franchise and Integrity team to build a legal shared services function The GBSC team is predominantly co-located in a collaborative working environment in the heart of the Mastercard Technology Operations headquartered in St Louis, Missouri, USA Select regional hubs exist to provide additional scale and agility, the largest of which is located in Pune, India The GBSC provides services to all regions and all business units spanning 50 countries The current position will be based in Pune, India and fully dedicated to providing legal support to Mastercards Operations & Technology (O&T) business unit

This front-line position will interface with internal and external stakeholders and involve ongoing contractual legal support for O&T The position would cover matters in India and the Asia Pacific region, as well as other regions around the globe The Manager, Contract Services serves on a team of contract negotiators within the broader GBSC Legal Services team Reporting to the Director, Contract Services and interacting closely with the O&T legal team, this position will perform end to end O&T contract services and be accountable for delivering positive customer experiences and efficient business results

You will perform end to end contract preparation and execution processes for an assigned portfolio of transactions, beginning with receipt of requests for contract generation through contract signature
Review, draft and negotiate vendor and commercial contracts involving the O&T business unit, including, but not limited to agreements involving the acquisition and license of technology, professional services, equipment purchases, communication services, and other technology related agreements
Foster and build strong relationships with business stakeholders and department colleagues to promote cross-functional collaboration, as well as ensure seamless contract review support to achieve positive results for Mastercard
Coordinate with the O&T legal team, O&T business unit clients, sourcing, subject matter experts in data privacy, intellectual property, regulatory/public policy, franchise, information security, tax, finance, sales, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure that agreements are prepared, revised and executed in accordance with corporate strategy, internal policies, playbooks and procedures
Analyze contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, policies and procedures
Provide superior customer service according to the GBSC standards in terms of quality, response time, resolution time and adhering to Service Level Objectives

All About You
LLB graduate Law degree from an established and reputable university
Excellent legal and business acumen, strong analytical and problem solving skills
Significant experience drafting and negotiating technology contracts Familiarity with enterprise architecture, cloud, automation, security and data is desirable
Demonstrated ability to manage workloads involving tasks of varying priority and complexity
Excellent English language communication and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on collaborating with key legal and business stakeholders to negotiate and confirm legal and business contract terms
Ability to recognize when to escalate and when to exercise independent judgement and discretion in reviewing/ negotiating contracts
Experience initiating and managing improvement in areas of customer legal support by leveraging process metrics and customer feedback
Demonstrated strength in customer focused service orientation
Knowledge of US, European, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, or other non-Indian legal systems a plus
