First proposal of Microchip Internship MPU Methodology

Title Early Static and Dynamic Power and IR Drop Flow

Duration 6 month

Qualification Last year of Engineering Degree

Internship Subject

As part of Microchip MPU Methodology team, you will define and implement a Early Static and Dynamic Power and IR Drop Flow

You will have to understand the whole SoC Flow for Power and IR Drop You then will have to define the best approach to be able to obtain

static and dynamic (VCD based) power and IR Drop figures based on an early implementation of the SoC

Second proposal of Microchip Internship MPU Architecture

Title Multi-Core SoC DDR Controller Optimization

Duration 6 month

Qualification Last year of Engineering Degree

Internship Subject

As part of Microchip MPU Architecture team, you will be in charge to optimize the DDR Controller hardware/software in order to get the optimal performance in term of bandwidth / latency / area / power

The DDR Controller is the heart the modern Multi-Core SoC Its complexity in term of hardware parameters (RTL) and software configuration make its optimization difficult

As part of this internship, you will be in charge of understanding the impact of hardware parameters and software configuration in order to find the best tradeoff between bandwidth / latency / area / power

Job Requirements

Acquired Skillset / Experience

Simulation RTL and Gate-Level Back-annotated
Scripting TCL and Perl
Power estimation Synopsys PrimeTime PX
IR Drop understanding of ANSYS RedHawk tools

Required Skillset / Experience

Last year of electronic / microelectronic engineering school
Understanding of HDL language (VHDL or Verilog)
C coding experience
Preferred experience with RTL simulator
preferred experience in script TCL or Perl or Python

High-Level SoC Testbench C, Verilog Modeling
