Tripura Engineering Service Selection Process

The provision for constitution of Public Service Commission was first incorporated under Article 96C of the Government of India Act,1919. Thereafter in 1923 ‘Lee Commission’ was constituted for the purpose of formulating the principles/terms and conditions of Public Service Commission. Subsequently, as per recommendations of the ‘Lee Commission’ Federal Public Service Commission was established in India for the first time, on 1st October, 1926. Lee Commission also recommended for establishment of Provincial Public Service Commissions.

Tripura got her statehood on 21st January,1972  and Tripura Public Service Commission was established on 30th October, 1972, under the provisions of Article 315 of the Constitution of India. Sri G.P.Bagchi was the first Chairman and Sri I. K. Roy was the first Member of the Tripura Public Service Commission. The Commission is, at present, located at the old Assembly House of Tripura, at Akhaura Road, Agartala.

Tripura Public Service Commission’s Junior Engineer, TES Grade V and Junior Engineer Grade I & II exam selection process details are given below….

Selection Procedure: Tripura public service commission conducts Junior Engineer exam selection process will consists of Common Written Examination and Interview-Cum-Personality Test.

Written Examination: Written examination will carry 500 marks shall consists of 1(one) compulsory paper titled “General Studies” of one hour duration carrying 100 marks and 2(two) Optional Papers in the appropriate branch of engineering of 3 hours duration carrying 200 marks each. Questions in all the papers shall be answered in English only. Qualifying marks shall be 40% and 30% in each subject for candidates of unreserved and reserved category respectively.

Interview-Cum-Personality Test: The candidates who qualified in competitive examination will be called to appear at the Interview-cum-Personality Test carrying 50 marks.

The merit panel will be prepared taking into account marks obtained in Written Examination and Interview-cum-Personality Test.
