What is XPath Absolute Path?

Place path specifies the place of node in XML file. This path may be absolute or relative. If region course begins with root node or with '/' then it is an absolute course. Following are few of the example finding the elements the usage of absolute path.

/class/student − choose student nodes within class root node.

/class/student/firstname − select firstname of a student node within class root node.

Example

In this example, we have created a sample XML report students.xml and its stylesheet file students.xsl which uses the XPath expressions.
