Preventing Measures

  • To make sure that the operating system and any program we use are upto date with updates/patches.
  • Never open strange e-mails, particularly the ones with attachments which might be any of the malware.
  • When we download any software from internet, we need to always check what is installed. It is not advisable to simply click on OK to dismiss pop-up windows. We need to verify the publisher, before we install them in our system.
  • It is better to install anti-virus software; and also make certain that we scan and update those anti-viruses regularly. In most cases anti-virus programs will remove and prevent worms, viruses, trojans and some spyware.
