RF Activity Control Using the RF Monitor - SAP WM

Use
Each Radio Frequency (RF) user is assigned to a queue in Customizing for Mobile Data Entry under RF Queue Management. This assignment can be changed at a central place using the RF monitor, for example, by the warehouse manager, or the user can change this assignment at the RF terminal, provided he or she has the authorization to do so.

The user's view at the RF terminal is limited to the transfer orders (TOs) of his/her current queue. To ensure that TO processing by RF users is run as efficiently as possible, a central coordination point is required. This is possible with the help of the RF monitor. The monitor is used for assigning the TOs created in the warehouse to queues. This assignment takes place according to the shipment type and the source/destination data of the TO. Also, you can use the monitor to supervise the workload and the work capacity of queues.

Features
The following options are available:

  • Display of the number of assigned TOs and users, as well as the ratio of workload to users for each queue:
The individual transfer orders can be listed, sorted by creation date and time, with further detail information.
  • Manual shifting of TOs and users to other queues:
This function enables you to react to unplanned situations.
  • Manually changing processing priorities of TOs:
Transfer orders can be brought forward in the priority list because the priority has changed, or moved further down the queue.
  • Forwarding TOs to another queue:
If no user is available to process TOs from a specific queue, for example, those TOs does not have to be moved manually from the source queue, but can be passed on to another queue (destination queue). For this situation, move the source queue (queue fromwhich TOs should be forwarded) beneath the destination queue (queueto which TOs are forwarded). This queue relationship enables users to process TOs from the source queue, even if they are assigned to the destination queue. In a system-guided transaction, the TOs of the source queue are automatically forwarded to the operator, assigned to the destination queue, after he processed all TOs in his queue.

If you want to forward TOs from the queue Q-Source to the queue Q-Destination, move Q-Source beneath Q-Destination. Users assigned to Q-Destination can then process TOs assigned to Q-Source even though the access to Q-Source is limited. This setting overrides the setting in the access field of the respective queue.

Defining a Queue and Changing the Assignment
Use
A queue supports the coordination of warehouse activities and increases work efficiency. You can define a queue that groups similar activities (for example, putaway activities) and then assign operators to this queue. The operators will process transfer orders assigned to this queue. Queues can be defined for different activities, doors, and areas in the warehouse. The assignment of a queue can be changed due to a change in the workload.

Prerequisites
In Customizing for Mobile Data Entry, you can define a queue and assign processors to it by choosing RF Queue Management. You can also determine whether a transfer order that is assigned to a specific queue can only be processed by users that are assigned to this queue or by each user. Choose RF QueueManagement Define Queues. The Access field determines the access to transfer orders that do not belong to the user's queue:

Defining a Queue and Changing the Assignment

The settings mentioned above are overridden if the respective queue, for which the settings are made, is a forwarding queue. For more information, see RF Activity Control Using the RF Monitor .

Procedure
Change the queue assignment:

  1. Choose Internal Warehouse Processes Queue Change.
  2. Enter the modified queue and with F1 Save, save your entry.
  3. According to the limitation criteria mentioned above, you must be assigned to a queue with strict limitation if you want to process TOs assigned to it.
