What is Personal Branding? How to identify your brand?

Recognition of one’s image, options and desires is the hardest stage. Due to high competition in the world many people remain unsafe and visualize- what would happen if I am a loser?
Such types of questions arise in the mind which makes our identity, strengths and emotions feeble. On the contrary, if our strengths are not recognized, we cannot achieve any success.

How to Discover your Brand?

As such there is no effective way to discover your brand.
However, below given are some exercises, if you work on them truly, no doubt you can find your brand (detailed questionnaire has been given at the end of this tutorial).
Step 1

Step 2

Do the following exercise −

Draw columns on a piece of paper (as shown below).
Things You Like Most Things that Others Like in You Things that need Improvement
Things You Like MostThings that Others Like in YouThings that need Improvement
  • First Column − Write down the five things that you are more interested in; it can be anything of your wish like studies, hobbies, your strength, etc.
  • Second Column – mention five points that you are more admired by the people around you. It may be your honesty, abilities, time management, your truthfulness, your representation, etc.
  • Third Column – Now match with column A and column B and find out in both the columns what improvements you need and based on that write five points.

Make a note that while matching and comparing both the columns A and B you need to take both points i.e, your option and people’s outlook. It will help you self-analyse and recognize your brand.

Once you are completed in recognizing your brand, now you need to −
  • Set an objective.
  • Note down your assignment, foresight, and personal brand statement.
  • Construct a plan (Your strategy has to be small and in simple steps. Once you are confident that first is finished then go for the second strategy and continue further. A complex strategy can give you negative impression and demotivate you, so try to ignore it and opt for a simple and easy path.
