The producer–user gap - Marketing Management

Despite the growth of direct marketing in today’s complex economy, most producers still do not sell directly to final users. Between them and consumers lie marketing intermediaries. Relationships among channel members are influenced by the structure of the channel. Marketing channels can be described as sets of interdependent organizations involved in the process of making a product or service available for use or consumption.
