What is Magento Setup Inventory?

Inventory lets in setting a product's stock quantity. For instance, you have a product with one hundred units in stock. In case you set the stock availability to "Out of stock" then it will force the object to be out of stock. We are able to see the way to configure and control the inventory settings in Magento.

Step (1): Login to your Magento Admin Panel.

Step (4): The Stock Options panel contains some settings.

  • Decrease stock when Order is placed: It indicates whether the stock amount of the product should be decreased while an order is located. through default, it's far set to yes method it decreases the inventory of the products when an order is placed.
  • Display Out of stock products: as the call suggests, it displays the goods which are out of inventory. by default, stock products are not proven inside the catalog. if you want the product to be visible to the client, then set it to sure.
  • The only X left Threshold: it is used to set threshold number. when the units of that product drop to that range, it'll show most effective X left a message on the product details page. by means of default, it's far set to zero this means that it's miles disabled.
  • Display products availability in stock inside the frontend: It displays the provision of stock products via setting it to the sure alternative.

Step (5): Product inventory options panel carries settings associated with handling the stock of the products.


  • Manage stock: by default, it is set to yes which means it specifies the range of products in keeping with the unit and it decreases the stock of the products when an order is placed.
  • Backorders: by default, it is set to No Backorders option.
