What is JIRA Burndown Chart?

It shows the total work remaining to attain the sprint goal for a specified time to sprint. Its assistants the team to achieve the progress and reply accordingly. This chart is a vital feature of Agile – Scrum methodology.

Generate a Report

To generate a report, the user must follow the steps given below.

Step 1 − Go to Project → select an Exact project. Click on the Report icon on the left side of the menu. Navigate to Agile and click on Burndown chart. The resulting screenshot displays how to access a Burndown Chart.


Step 2 − It shows the Burndown chart of the sprint like how the team is rolling towards a committed task. The red line shows how much work is remaining, while the grey line displays the dedicated tasks. The team can see where they position in terms of the development of sprint as associated to the promise at the starting of that sprint. The user can alter the Sprint and Y-axis by selection from a dropdown.
The resulting screenshot displays how the Burndown chart looks like sprint wise.


Step 3 − In the second portion of the report, it shows data like what is the sprint start date, what all problems were added, day by day how various issues determined, what story points of the issues are, and day-by-day how various story points are remaining. This data is used to create the chart. The resulting screenshot displays the data that is used to produce the chart.


Note − Relatively alike to these reports, other reports can also be produced.
