Our industrial culture has undergone a radical change. In ancient times, were we were having zamindars, all the labourers in the particular area will strive for that zamindar only.

Next was the British work culture, where hire and fire was the policy.During pre-independence, because of some of our great national leaders,a concern was developed for workers and their welfare. British government at the far end of their tenure enacted few acts like trade union act, Industrial disputes Act etc. Our workers culture which were all along like slavery slightly improved and unions were formed. After independence several welfare measures were taken by the government to protect the rights of industrial workers and to improve their working conditions to give them several rights and to improve their relations with employers a number of legislations were made like, Factories Act, amended industrial disputes Act wages Act etc. All were to improve the healthy atmosphere in the industries.
