Travel and tourism sectors have potential to create thousands of jobs to push the economic growth.
Tourism sector is creating 6.8 percent in the GDP and there is a potential to reach to 9 percent of the GDP. Jobs creation will generate India's growth. "India needs to focus on travel and tourism. It has the best multiplier effect as far as job creation is concerned, therefore, it (government) needs to focus on travel and tourism with huge vigor and energy," Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion ( DIPP).
