India inc is experienced the significant change in the past decade with phenomenal growth women IT professionals in the rapid changing IT products and services of IT sector. IT is the largest hiring sector for women professionals which stand for 25 percent. The growing number of women IT professionals has been raising many questions, that what was the reason and what are the challenges ahead.

- The most important reason for the entry of women IT professionals in the IT sector is that the growing support and initiatives followed by the companies to encourage women employees. Men being the dominant counterparts are increasingly appreciating and acknowledging the role of women IT professionals and the different perspectives women bring to their team. The main reason behind this is that women generally more collaborative, nurturing and compassionate to build highly cohesive and collaborative teams and workplace. This is the main reason that women will be a great leader. SEBI initiated the mandatory of women members on board has opened doors for the talented women executives who want to start their career in corporate world.

The challenges: Despites of the initiations and changes, IT industry is dominated by men unlike finance and HR. Still women are considered as minority group and most of the men express their ideas and views confidently but women tend to think twice before they speak and missing out some opportunities.

The Advice: The increasing number of women IT professionals shows that they are more confident and able to build a solid workforce. Being confident and open minded will definitely help a women professional to get succeed in IT world. If you have passion, strong desire and excel to do great work then you can enter the tech space.
