Sustainability or green engineers have multiple disciplines like mechanical, electrical, environmental, civil, or structural. Green engineers work towards reduce the use of non-renewable resources and minimize an organizations environmental impact. The rise in concern for environment issues has been creating more jobs for sustainability engineers over the past few years. Top level professionals believe that sustainable business practices will increase productivity, reduce costs, and boost energy efficiency. There is a considerable difference between the profile of an engineer and green engineer. Many public and private companies are hiring sustainability engineers and offering IT jobs.


- Green engineer job responsibilities differ organization to organization. One sustainability engineer may work at office and other may need to work at industrial environment, while yet another may spend the majority of their time outdoors.
