Respect and recognition are key elements in employee retention: Survey
Recent survey mentioned that respect is a key element that helps companies to retain their employees. The survey was conducted by United States headquartered consulting and research firm to know Great Place to Work. Nearly 18,86,543 employees across 1,064 companies spread over nine countries were participated in the survey. The survey results divides companies into three categories
- Best Multinational Workplaces, Best Small & Medium Workplaces (50-500 employees) and Best Large Workplaces (more than 500 employees). Over 60 percent employees feel respectful treatment like providing basic equipment for the job; welcoming staff suggestions and recognizing good work is the primary thing to retain key employees. According to the survey, DHL tops the list of best multinational workplaces, followed by Omnicom and Google. Other companies in the top 10 best multinational workplaces include are EMC, Marriott, NetApp, Hyatt, MARS, American Express and SAP. Meanwhile, salesforce topped among the 25 best small and medium workplaces, followed by Optiver Australia and The Physio Co.
- The top three companies among best large workplaces are Atlassian, MECCA Brands and RMSI. The best workplaces are featured on the based on the trust index survey results conducted among employees which measures levels of trust, pride and camaraderie in the workplace. Meanwhile, organizations complete the culture audit, an in-depth evaluation of their people practices. Getting places at the best places to work is first step towards building a high-performance great workplace culture.
- Companies across the sectors like information technology, financial services and insurance, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, hospitality, education and training, transportation and media included this year best places to work. The survey also mentioned that along with respect, pride at work and the management's credibility also responsible factors considered vital for employee retention. The survey mentioned that having pride in what you do, trust the people you work with and great work environment are characteristics of a great workplace.
