Real estate sector saw growth in demand during April, 2017: Report

Job market saw 3 percent growth in April 2017 and construction and Real estate sectors are emerging as the top employers during April, 2017. Other sectors like Logistics, petrochemicals, IT/telecom and BFSI hired in a great way in this month. Functional wise hiring reveals that Business management/ consultants, hospitality, logistics and BFSI professionals saw significant growth in hiring activities. Location wise analysis reveals that Bangalore and Pune witnessed maximum growth in hiring and Ahmadabad and Indore were the top hiring tier II locations. State wise study found that Maharashtra saw 5 percent demand in hiring activities. Experienced professionals saw demand while junior level professionals saw drop in hiring activities. Candidates with more than 20 years experience saw solid growth in hiring during April, 2017. Finally, overall hiring was stable in April, 2017 as many key employment sectors and functional areas saw rise in hiring activities.

  • Real estate registered highest rise of 7 per cent in hiring during April 2017
  • Construction sector posted 6 per cent rise in demand
  • IT/telecom and BFSI sector saw 2 per cent rise in demand

RECRUITMENT TREND BY FUNCTION

  • Business management/consultants reported 21 per cent rise in demand
  • Hospitality professionals witnessed 12 per cent rise in demand
  • Logistics and BFSI professionals saw 11 per cent rise in demand

RECRUITMENT TREND BY LOCATION

  • Among top ten locations, Bangalore and Pune reported 14 per cent rise in demand
  • Chennai saw 11 per cent rise in talent demand in April 2017
  • Ahmadabad and Indore posted 8 per cent rise, Jaipur saw 3 per cent rise

RECRUITMENT TREND BY EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates with over 20 years of experience reported highest rise (10%)
  • Candidates with 5-10 years of experience posted 8 per cent rise in demand
  • Candidates with 2-5 years of experience witnessed 5 per cent rise in demand
