Over 50% companies hiring rehiring ex-employees: Rehiring ex-employees as a retention tool
According to the recent survey more than half of the employers felt that ex-employers fill in crucial positions which require niche skills. Employer turnover may be costing your business time, productivity and money. Companies are following strong recruitment and retention programmes to reduce the employee turnover.
Nearly 60 percent employees feel that rehiring an ex employee as a relevant practice and more than 30 percent employee believe that its moderately relevant and should be used under important circumstances and more than 10 percent employees felt that ex-employees should not be hired. While 50 percent recruiters believe that it works for middle level, 5% for senior level and rest at junior level. Over 40 percent employers hired ex-employees, half of the surveyed employers said that they are thinking to hire them soon and 10 percent said no idea of re-hiring. Organizations hiring ex-employees as per their requirements and designations. Responding to the question what leads you to hire an ex employee, more than 55 percent mentioned that need for specialized skills and 35 percent hiring for the need to fill leadership capabilities and 10 percent hiring for a need to do collaborative projects. Re hiring the ex employee involves certain strategies and provisions like over 30% companies bring back the ex-employee by developing a strong boomerang or alumni program and 25% do this by making sure that the employee knows that rehiring top ex-employee is an appreciated practice within their organization. It was also a fact that rehiring ex employees makes training minimal and cost effective also. More than 30 percent employers believe that minimum training required, 25 percent cost eefctive, 15 percent ex employee returns treated as a potential retention tool. Over 15 percent firms believe that ex-employees are well aware of the organizational processes, culture and system. Nearly 10% employees have already proved their worth and for the rest 5% companies, the re-hired employees are more loyal towards organizations than they were before.
