Monarch airlines are located at Luton airport and runs flights to various destinations across the world. This is a private company controlled by Swiss-Italian Mantegazza is planning to cut 1,000 jobs to reposition it as a low-cost airline competing with easyJet and Ryanair.

Monarch to cut up to 1,000 jobs

It has taken some measures to drop its charter flights on short-haul scheduled flying and its fleet will shrink from 42 to 30 aircraft. This airline was warned because it has excess capacity in the market. Last month, Monarch Airlines announced a fleet order of 30 aircraft at the Farnborough air show.
