Men work longer, but women more open to working while on holiday: Study

Recent study on The Gender divide at work explores the major differences in work styles between male and female employees. The survey mentioned that nearly 40% of both male and female employees spend 10-12 hours a day at work place. Meanwhile 70% male employees preferred to do overtime at work as compared to 40% female employees. Among them 70% male employees who are interested to do extra time at work, 50% do it every day and 30% do it alternate day and only 20% do it twice a week.

Meanwhile, 40% female employees are interested to do overtime, 55% female employees do it twice, 35% employees do it on alternative days and 10% employees do it every day. More interesting fact is there is a great difference between the mindset of the employee and actual difference in job performance. The performance of women is greater than men even if they don't spend time as equal men and sometimes it is more than men, according to the survey. Male employees are being put in extra hours at work and the level of displeasure in doing overtime is equal for both men and women. However, 55% female employees are interested to work while holidaying and 30% male employees opposed to do so. Over 60% and 70% employees mentioned that they will prefer great work life balance rather than a better pay package. Responding to the question of work-life balance, 65% female employees are happy with their work-life balance and only 40% male employees are happy with their work-life balance, survey reveals. While, 70% employees are happy to share the details like job change and only 30% female employees maintain confidential about their job-search, salaries and increments are still regarded as taboos at workplace.Nearly 60% employees happily disclose their salary package among their colleagues and 70% female employees feel embarrassed to share to their salary details.
