Indian infrastructure sector is at downfall phase and require skill upgradation. It is estimated that during 2015-16 the growth is expected to 7%to 8%. There were no investment till the financial year 2013-14 due to delays in land acquisition, environment clearances and heavy interest and working capital are hampering the growth. As per the available data from government nearly US$ 1 trillion are invested in infrastructure sector as per the 12th five year plan. India requires more development plans in Infrastructure sector as no other country requires. Even India also have plans to absorb the invest plans as much as available. Rapid growth of urbanization in India requires multi dimensional approach to create more plans for infrastructure development. The government has some constructive plans in coming years like development of roadways, riverways and ports extensively. The other plans like creating 100 smart cities and sanitation facilities across the rural and semi urban areas are the major part of infrastructure development plans. More focus will be on industrial corridors, development of smart cities, rural infrastructure and renewable energy etc.

- Employment generation is the major agenda and it is also true that nearly 100 million people are looking for employment in India and half of them will be employed in infrastructure incoming 10 years. According to a survey infrastructure sector in India will be getting 12.2% hike in the FY 2015-16.Infratsrure sector have the manpower with no specific qualifications. People from different domains like engineering, geography, environment studies are hired along with the unskilled labour.

- There is estimation that coming years will see huge demand for skilled professionals like civil engineers, geologists, management personel, finance experts and masons along with unskilled professionals also. Recent survey by NSSO (National Sample Survey Office) stated that nearly 1.28 million of the total workforce should have been either received some form of professional training or certification.
