Recent survey found that more than half of the Indian employees are fully committed or engaged to their current employers. The survey was conducted among 250000 people across 30 countries with 4000 mid and senior level professionals from India. Over 42% of surveyed participants mentioned that they were totally committed to their current employer. The survey mentioned that most engaged employees were in India and Indonesia and least committed employees in Thailand and Singapore. Employee engagement is closely related with the issue of valued employees feel by their employers.
- In India over 55% employees say they feel valued at work and their employers built a confidence that trust to get engage or retain with them. The survey stated that a company with engaged and committed employees is frequently rewarded with better work performance, high productivity, less absenteeism, lower turnover, and higher customer satisfaction. Meanwhile the study also mentioned that a lot of employees looking to switch their jobs very early during their tenure with the current company. The survey found that over 65% employees in India look for job within one year. This is due to frequent job search on online communities and social media impact.
- The impact of social media is rising and more than 60% companies prefer social media as a strong job search platform to find the right job. Most of the companies advertise jobs on web as it indicates that social media is one of the most preferred medium to reach out to the desired candidate with the minimum time frame. Top reasons to be better employer in India are noted as salary, financial incentives, compensation and benefits at 27%, followed by work life balance at 75%. These facts help an employee to get engage with an employer for long term and make successful career journey according to the survey.
