India Inc to see 10.5% salary hike in '16; higher for life sciences, IT and chemical industries

India Inc to increase base salaries by 10.5% next year and more than half of them plan to hire more workers. The expected salary increase across industries may range between 10% to 11%, with relatively higher increases for life sciences, IT and chemical industries. Life science is highly a competitive industry and expected to be same in 2016. The survey mentioned that nearly 48% of Indian companies expect to increase their headcount in 2016. It industry is creating more job opportunities for engineering and science graduates. On recruitment, organistions find it hard to attract research and development professionals as well as engineering graduates.
