Scholastic Assessment Test is generally abbreviated as SAT, which is a standardized test conducted by College Board. SAT is usually targeted by those students seeking admission to undergraduate schools worldwide to pursue UG course particularly in USA and Canada. The exam has been designed to evaluate the written, verbal and mathematical skills of the applicants. Separate SAT subject tests are offered by the conducting body for those who are seeking admission to a particular course/subject to evaluate candidate’s understanding and knowledge of that particular subject such as Sciences and Foreign Languages, Literature, History and Mathematics.

It has been developed for students from India and around the world looking for higher studies in top renowned and premier institutions/universities within India. College Board has done a coalition with a number of Indian universities for this purpose.

Why do candidates take SAT?
Most of the colleges in US and Canada demand for SAT scores for admission in their undergraduate courses.

SAT Subject Test
Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) also referred as SAT 1 is a general test taken by the students seeking admission to undergraduate schools while on the other hand, SAT 2 is a subject-oriented test taken by those looking to get admission to a particular course.

SAT 2019 Eligibility
Eligibility criteria specified by the conducting body College Board to appear in SAT exam is as follows:
• Age Limit
There is no minimum or maximum age limit criteria specified by College Board to appear in the exam.
No. of Attempts
Applicants can appear for SAT exam as many time as they wish as there is no restriction set by College Board.
Educational Eligibility Criteria
No specific minimum qualification criteria is set by the conducting body. However, those who applied for undergraduate program are required to have completed their schooling successfully.

SAT 2019 Registration

Applicants can register themselves using two methods either by online or by mail to appear in the exam.
Steps for Online Registration:
1. Visit the official website of College Board.
2. Create your account.
3. Submit all the required details.
4. Select the type of SAT exam you wish to take.
5. Select the nearest test center.
6. Upload your photograph and signature.
7. Pay the application fee.
Steps for Registration by Mail:
1. Grab the “The Student Registration Guide for the SAT and SAT Subject Tests” available at schools.
2. The guide include a registration form along with the return envelope.
3. Send the form along with the demand draft at their regional office address. The local representative of SAT in India is the USIEF.

Cancelling the SAT Exam
Those who wish to cancel the exam would be refunded only US$10 if they cancel the test 5 days in advance. NO full refund would be entitled to any applicant regardless of how early she/he cancels her/his SAT test.

Rescheduling the SAT Exam
To reschedule the exam, applicants are required to log into their SAT official account requesting for a date change. Also, they need to pay an extra fee of US$30 for rescheduling.

SAT Scholarships
A number of scholarships are available on the official website of every college/institution along with other fellowships and grants given to needy and deserving candidates.

SAT 2019 Scores
There are two SAT sections Reading, Writing and Mathematics scored on a 200-800 point scale, out of maximum total score of 1600.

How to Send SAT Scores to Colleges?
Applicants can send their scores to colleges up to 9 days of taking the SAT test paying $12 while registering for the test or after releasing the official scores.
Steps to send SAT scores:
1. Sign to your College Board account.
2. Click on ‘Send Scores’.
3. Either select ‘Send Available Scores Now’ (to send scores immediately) or click on ‘Send Scores When Available’ (if scores are yet to be declared).
4. Add recipients by choosing your shortlisted colleges.
5. Pay the final amount.

SAT 2019 Score Validity Period

SAT scores are valid up to a period of 5 years. Students can also order an additional copy of their scorecards for the purpose of sending it to more colleges and can pay a sum of $ 9 (433.224 INR).

SAT 2019 Result

After 3 weeks of taking up the test, your SAT scores available on the official website of College Board. SAT scoring is evaluated out of 2400 (from 600 to 2400). Subject wise scores range from 200 (min)-800 (max).

SAT 2019 Cut-Off
There is no strict SAT cut-off set by the College Board for candidates applying to colleges/universities abroad.
