IT/Telecom industry saw a growth of 2% during the year 2015. NAASCOM estimated that Indian IT industry is expected to grow 11 per cent per annum to reach $350 billion by FY 2025.Experts predict that middle and senior level managers to see increased demand in 2016. Government's initiatives such as Make in India and Digital India to create more jobs for entry level professionals. India will also expand its base of 3,100 tech startups to 11,500 by 2020, as per NASSCOM.

Hiring trends and projections for IT/Telecom sector

Mobile association of India and Boston Consulting Group stated that, India's internet economy is expected to touch Rs 10 trillion by 2018.Professionals across skills such as supply chain, product management, e-commerce and managing large format retail will be in demand. Rise in demand for IT/Telecom and sales professionals during the year 2015. Talent demand was more in small cities and global locations. Bangalore emerged as a hot job hub and Delhi saw drop in demand during the year. Professionals across EDP (electronic data processing), MIS (management information services or systems), sales and direct marketing were sought during the year. Channel sales and business development roles were sought for senior level positions. Bangalore topped the list of hiring activities for senior level positions.

Senior level professionals across application programming, radio frequency engineers, EDP and MIS specialization were sought during the year. Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Ahmadabad and Mumbai also saw rise in demand for senior level. IT/Telecom, marketing&advertising and engineers saw rise in demand during the year and demand for sales /business development, HR profiles growth at considerable level during the year. IT industry is looking for the candidates with skills such as user interface design, algorithm design, visualization, middleware and integration software, data science and analytics, mobile development, business intelligence, data engineering and data warehousing and game development will be in demand in coming years.
