Here's how to seek career as research analyst
The growing need of the companies has created huge demand for research analysts in 2016. Firms across consulting services, banking and financial services have been the top employment generators for research analysts. Over 52 percent of job postings for research analysts have been made for IT software, BPO/ITeS, advertising and marketing organizations. Recent study mentioned that Healthcare, pharma and automobile sectors have also seen an upward trend in demand for research analysts. Many public sector companies are also looking for qualified research analysts to perform research and development activities. Over 75 percent of companies looking for the mid level professionals with 2-5 years of experience followed by entry-level candidates with 0-2 years of experience. The salary ranges between 2-3.5 lakh.
Here are some requirements for a successful career in research and development:
Chose a specific sector: If you want to pursue a career as a research analyst then select a sector and develop more knowledge about the specifications of sector by reading trade journals and magazines regularly to be up to date.
Gain experience: Work in sales, project management or business development to get experience on your current role. This will help you to gain area of expertise in your chosen filed.
Able to prepare reports: Business decisions include quantifying the various factors in a situation, which is a task which falls to the research analyst. It is important to have research and writing skills for a successful research analyst career. Having statistical skills will add value to your profile and helps you in performing calculations and analytics. Without having writing skills you will not be able to communicate your views.
