According to a survey campus recruitment is considered as a cost effective recruitment platform to hire the best talent. Over 33% surveyed employers mentioned that campus recruitment saves helps in cutting down expenditure and time involved in adverting, screening and selecting a candidate for an available job position.

Campus placements are designed to identify young, qualified talent from the educational institutions prior to completion of their studies. The overall process reduces the time involved in hiring process. Moreover 30 percent of organizations find it as a brand promotional tool as well as helps to build a strong campus brand and engage with students and faculty on periodic basis increases their recall value. More than 30 percent of employers mentioned that high drop out rates, one of the biggest challenges. The biggest challenge in campus recruitment is that many students do not join once they complete their studies. Over 32 percent of employers mentioned that employability aspect of fresh graduates. Most of the students opt for higher studies; some join other organizations for various employment/personal reasons. Meanwhile, some organizations have collaborated with corporate to fill the gap between industry needs and skill shortage.

The biggest challenges in campus recruitment are over 34% joining /drop out ratios, more than 30 % mentioned as employability quitiesnt,25% mentioned as training cost and 12% mentioned as budgetary allocations. The biggest advantage of campus recruitment is cost effectiveness mentioned by more than 18% , over 33% mentioned it as a time saving platform ,32% mentioned brand building as the biggest advantage and only 17% percent stated as it increases the retention value. The changing business needs demands organizations to recruit from campuses and train them as per the changing business models. Experts opined that pre-placement sessions provides a chance to the companies what exactly they need from a fresh college pass-out, what would be the job profiles, the career path and salaries among other relevant issues.
