Entry level professionals saw 3% rise in demand in June, 2017: Wisdom Jobs study
Wisdom jobs hiring trends report June 2017 stated that Petrochemicals was the top employment generator in June 2017, followed by the infrastructure sector. Overall, hiring dropped in June 2017.
Overall hiring scenario in June 2017
- Petrochemicals posted 8.8% rise in talent demand.
- Hospitality professionals reported 12.5% rise in demand.
- Among top ten locations, Chandigarh witnessed over 20.4% rise in demand.
- Professionals with less than 2 years of experience posted 3.2% cent rise in demand.
Petrochemicals sector was the top hiring sector during June 2017 followed by Projects/ infrastructure sector which saw rise in talent demand during the month. Hospitality professionals saw significant rise in talent demand. Location wise analysis revealed that, tier II location posted maximum increase in demand. Among them Mumbai was the best performing metro in terms of recruitment scenario followed by Kerala saw 20 per cent rise in talent demand. Experience wise analysis revealed that entry level professionals with less than 2 years of experience saw huge demand in June 2017.

- Projects/infrastructure sector posted 4.2% rise in demand.
- Travel & hospitality and construction sectors witnessed 2.5% rise in talent demand.

- Hospitality professionals reported 12.4% rise in demand.
- Legal/law professionals witnessed 10.3% rise in demand.
- Media/journalism and engineering professionals witnessed 5.2% rise.
Location wise hiring trends in June 2017
- Among top 10 locations, Chandigarh saw 20.6% rise in demand.
- Among metros, Mumbai saw rise of 4.7% in demand.
- Among states, Kerala saw rise of over 20.8% in talent demand
Experience wise hiring trends in June 2017
- Candidates with less than 2 years of experience saw 3.5% rise in demand.
- Professionals with over 20 years of experience reported posted stable talent demand.
- Candidates with 10-20 years of experience saw highest drop of 9.3% in demand.
