February 2017 saw 1% rise in talent demand across sectors like Consumer durables/FMCG, retail, construction and manufacturing. Among them BPO /ITes sector saw rise in demand and IT sector saw fall in demand. Professional wise study found that business development professionals saw highest rise in talent demand. Doctors, nurses and medical professionals also posted significant rise in demand during the month. Location wise analysis observed that Tier II locations saw maximum demand and other metros saw drop in demand except Chennai. Experience wise results found that professionals with less than 2 years experience saw huge demand, at the same time professionals with more than 20 years experience saw great fall in demand.

  • INDUSTRY WISE TRENDS:

Overall hiring trends reveal that there was a rise in talent demand in February 2017.Consumer durables/ FMCG sector posted 9% rise in demand. Retail sector registered 8% rise in hiring and construction sector saw 7% rise in talent demand.

  • FUNCTIONAL WISE TRENDS:

Talent demand rose across key sectors.Sales, BD professionals reported max (9%) rise in demand. doctors, nurses and medical professionals witnessed 5% rise in demand and hospitality, customer care profiles saw 1.5% rise in demand.

  • LOCATION WISE TRENDS:

While, many cities saw positive hiring trends across all major locations. Lucknow is known as the best performing city during February.Lucknow posted 19% rise in talent demand, Ahmedabad witnessed 14% rise in talent demand and among metros, Chennai saw 7% rise in talent demand.

  • EXPERIENCE WISE TRENDS:

Talent demand saw huge growth across all experience levels. Candidates with less than 2 years and 10-20 years of experience were most sought after. Experience wise analysis found that candidates with less than 2 years of experience reported 5% rise in talent demand.Candidates with 10-20 years of experience also witnessed 5% rise in demand and candidates with 5-10 years of experience reported 2% rise in demand.
