Bangalore saw 30% jobs rise for tech support professionals in 2017: Study

Recent study mentioned that more than 70% metro cities created more jobs in 2017 according to a new study. The latest hiring trends reports provided that cities like Delhi-NCR, Bangalore and Mumbai are the top three locations which have experienced maximum hiring in 2017 so far. These surveys score more on the livability and lifestyle aspects. Over 30% respondents mentioned that Mumbai as the best city to work followed by Bangalore with 25%.


Career experts mentioned that the above mentioned cities have great career opportunities and better career growth scope for job seekers. The survey report indicated that metropolitan cities such as Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR have typically been the hubs for great talent, particularly for the IT and ITeS sectors. More than 60% total hiring from Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR and we expect the same trend to continue.

Which sectors hiring more?

Sectors like IT/Telecom sector saw 30% rise in hiring and other sectors like manufacturing engineering and BFSI sectors were the other key employment generators for the Mumbai job market. BPO, healthcare and logistics industry were the primary talent demand drivers for Delhi-NCR. Project/infrastructure sector witnessed 15 per cent increase in demand for talent in Pune. Meanwhile Banking, construction, financial services, consumer durables, manufacturing, retail and telecom are the key sectors expected to generate more job opportunities during the coming months.

Functionality wise hiring trends:IT and telecom jobs, sales and its specializations reported maximum growth across metros in 2017. Accounting finance, HR and marketing professionals saw nearly 30% growth in jobs in Delhi-NCR and Bangalore. Bangalore witnessed more demand for tech support professionals in 2017. Logistics and advertising roles clocked over 35% job share in Mumbai, while demand for advertising, customer care roles was highest in Chennai. Experience wise hiring trends reveal that mid level professionals saw nearly 40% growth in jobs creation in metros. Delhi-NCR also saw 45% job share for middle level professionals. Mumbai experienced more demand for senior professionals. Chennai witnessed 30% growth in jobs creation for junior level and 35% job share at middle level in Jan-Jun 2017.
