According to the study of ASSOCHAM manufacturing, construction and services including transport, communication, hotels, education and real estate are the major sectors to create employment opportunities. The study explored that nearly 37 million agricultural workers have been left agriculture and find employment opportunities in the sectors.

Manufacturing sector is the largest employment generated sector as it creates more jobs in food processing units, wearing apparel, garments, leather and wood products.
