Recent survey mentioned that nearly 57 percent jobseekers include false or incorrect information in resumes and mid-level professionals tend to fudge the most. The survey mentioned that including false or fake information either by oversight or deliberately, is one of the top mistakes that job seekers make in their resumes.
Grammatical errors and typos are the most common mistakes made by the candidates observed in the survey. Experts believe that jobseekers need to understand the importance of a well-crafted resume. The resume is the first introduction to an employer and represents the presentation clarity and diligence. The other common mistakes mentioned are being text heavy, too vague, neglecting exact dates, stating duties rather than achievements, using very elaborate formatting and styles and information not being properly customized for the role applied.
